Remarks [author note: Herbarium and types: CHRB] [collector note: CHRB] Research: Plant Chemosystematics. "Author of world's first red list of endangered species (which was the NJ flora list he put together, which happened to get published with a red cover, and now we have Red Lists globally). This red list and his work in New Jersey helped to pass the Endangered Species Act into law by US Congress in the 1970s." (vide Lena Struwe).
