| Determination Remarks | All three fragments in this packet contain no lichen substances, have a K+ orange-red exciple, and (sub-)muriform hyaline ascospores. The specimens are considered syntypes. Contrary to Staiger (2002), Wirth & Hale (1976) did not select a specimen in US as the lectotype. If one does not with to recgonize acid deficient material in this group as a distinct taxon then F. virginalis = F. columbina (Tuck.) Staiger s. lat. |
