| Remarks | = Exostema ixoroides (J. D. Hooker) T. McDowell ined., det. T. McDowell, Jun 1995 Possibly introgressed with Exostema parviflorum A. Rich which is found in Hispaniola. This specimen (and others from elsewhere in Santa Clara) have slight pubescence. I consider it to be a form of Exostema ixoroides (Hook. f.) T. McDowell (ined.). That species has various pubescent forms, which I include without taxonomic separation, including the species E. velutinum Standl. and E. pervestitum Berhidi & Fernández. This leaf shape is more elliptic than the typical E. ixoroides, but not so much so as to merit taxonomic distinction, since the leaf shape is highly variable in this (and other) species of Exostema, det. T. McDowell, Jun 1995. |
