RemarksHeavily grazed broad flood plain and adjacent dry slopes. Plain with sparse herbs (many chenopods) and grasses; some small sand dune with denser vegetation; margins more silty and largely planted with Populus or with Hippophaea thickets, soils often encrusted with salt. Dry slopes dominated with tussocks of Achnatherum Taprooted perennial herb; shoots distichous; petals bright purple fading to blue, standard paler in center. Growing in open sandy areas
