Remarks2005 Expedition to Honshy, Japan. Collected by Tim Boland, Peter Brownless, Robert Jamieson, William McNamara and Shigeto Tsukie. BBJMT 298, 1 October 2005. Collected by seed at c. 720m from a deciduous tree to 12m x 16m with ovate-oblong leaf to 14cm x 6cm, mid green above and below with deep veins, margin biserrate, green samaras in pairs to 2cm x 5cm and obtuse to 60 degrees, localised in shade on dry stony soil on a moderate north-west facing mountainside in dense broadleaf woodland with Acer palmatum, Lindera triloba, adn Carpinus japonica, growing by the edge of a mountain stream leading to Ochiai, Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Pref., Japan. N 35 30 28.9 E 137 35 57.6.
