Remarks2005 Expedition to Honshu, Japan. Collected by Tim Boland, Peter Brownless, Robert Jamieson, William McNamara and Shigeto Tsukie. BBJMT 101 17 September 2005. Collected as seed from a tree to 16m x 10m with ovate leaflets, mid green above and mid-glaucous green below with toothed margins. Fruit a green single seeded obtuse samara to 2cm x 5cm. Growing in moist heavy loam on a flat southeast facing roadside in dense mixed woodland of Pinus densiflora, Quercus serrata and Acer palmatum. At side of Rt 219 beside 9.3km post from Rt 46 by track into Koiwai farm, Iwate Pref., Japan. (Collected from two trees on either side of the road.) N 39 46 25.3 E 141 00 33.3.
