| Habitat | in deep tall forest, Very humid but now (June) basically dry cloud forest on steep slopes inside of crater and upper slopes of volcanic cone (which is almost continually covered by a cloud, even now in dry season). Small-leaved, low sclerophyll forest on top of knife-edge rim surrounding crater, W of saddle and at saddle near where path crosses into the 1 km wide, 150 m deep crater. Ficus ssp., Bombacaceae, Cecropia; on ridge 4-8 m tall: Myrtaceae, Ternstroemia, Clusia and abundant Tillandsia (3 spp.) and other Bromeliads as epiphytes and on ground, a very common large-leaved Anthurium, Pharus, and 3 spp. of Peperomia |
