RemarksStony slope with vertical stripes of unconsolidated scree with very few plants, semiconsolidated scree with low but rich cover of braod-leafed herbs, and alpine turf, often in steps; lowermost slopes with more continuous turf, sometimes with hummocks in wetter areas with Pedicularis rhynanthoides. Perennial with stout tap root; leaves and stems suffused purple; calyx pale green with purple veins and margin; corolla lower lip white with fine purple reticulate veining; galea suffused purple. Growing on damp slopes up to 4850 m
