Determination Remarks | Annotated as an isolectotype (specimen on right of sheet) by James L. Reveal, 1992. Reveal (Harvard Pap. Bot. 9(1): 188. 2004) designated N. H. Holmgren & James L. Reveal 1037 (UTC) as the "lectotype" and its duplicates elsewhere as "isolectotypes." The terms are incorrectly used because he inadvertently validated E. nutans var. glabratum Reveal 1966 (invalid) as var. nov. The use of lectotype and isolectotype is a correctable error (cf., Vienna Code Art. 9.8, 37.6). |
