RemarksThese specimens are treated as atypical representatives of Orobanche multiflora as compared to material from New Mexico from whence Nuttall did his original description. The corolla tube is narrower, with lobes that are a pale blue-purple, with undulate margins. The host, Varilla texana, is unique among North American species of Orobanche. These South Texas populations clearly require further investigation. L. T. Collins 2015
