| Habitat | Northern hardwood forest of Quercus rubra, Betula papyrifera, Acer rubrum and A. saccharum. Understory of ferns (Matteucia struthiopteris and Dryopteris intermedia). Small stream beds running through mesic forest with patches of woodland grasses. Growing in center of Matteucia struthipoteris in a sphagnum/moss carpet in low wet area dominated by Picea rubens. |
