RemarksSpecimens from an average large tree about 24 m. high and 25 cm. trunk diameter, trunk pale grey, very slightly leaf marked; numerous stiff curved leaves about 3.5 m. long excluding stem inclosing sheath; leaf sheaths thin and tough about 1.5 m. long, blue green outside, inside white; petiole broad and very short; several short panicles grouped below leaves; fruit red.
