Remarks[Date, locality and habitat from Wright's notes for Field #334, 1st coll. This locality cited as type by Blake for Polygala longa with incorrect date of "May 1852" Wright 936 represents two field numbers, in Smithsonian Contr. Knowl. 5(6): 30. 1853, Gray cites a second locality for it, "near the copper mines, New Mexico; July" which is field #87, 2nd coll., "Stony hills between Santa Barbara and the Coppermines" New Mexico. This is the lectotype collection for P. puberula as selected by Wheelock. There is no way to distinguish which specimen goes with which locality.]
