"Journal of W. Deane May 21, 1887. Took the 12:07 train, Fitchburg Depot ang got off at West Cambridge. A short way beyond, just past the Brick Yards, in a boggy piece of ground, grows the Menyanthes, and I found it in full flower, her [illegible] had told me that it was in flower now and I secured what I wanted"
