RemarksI checked J. Bot. 14:197 and could not find the description of this species. According to Index Hepaticarum, the type was collected on the Rio Negro, presumably in Brazil (the US record lists Brazil, S. Carlos, and Rio Negro). There is no collector name listed on the packet. The packet says "Hepat. Spruceanae". This specimen ex Herbarium of Yale University; Herb. Verdoorn no. 25665.
