Remarks“R. F. Hohenacker is not the collector. He never went to India. Hohenacker edited many series of exsiccates between 1841 and 1874, containing plants collected by himself from Caucasia and adjoining areas and collected by others from Abyssinia, Chile, India, Italy, Mesopotamia, Surinam, Sweden, Ukraine. Although the specimen label shows “Ed. R. F. Hohenacker” (= Editor R. R. Hohenacker), usually the “Ed.” citation is overlooked, and he is mistaken as the collector. F. Metz, a missionary worker, made the collections for Hohenacker. Unfortunately, the exsiccate labels do not show the collector’s name”
