Root stocks thick, deep under the ground; leaves deep green with dark purple a part above, pale green or deep purple beneath; pedicels very short; calyx whitish green with deep purple lines; corolla tubes pale dark purple lower, pale yellow upper; lips pale yellow with hairs on margin; helmets pale yellow with hairs on upper margin; filaments glabrous, white; anthers yellow; ovaries pale green with reticulate deep purple lines; styles white with dark purple uppermost; stigmas inflated, white.
