Habitat | Growing in small Sphagnum bog about 300-400ft in diameter, in peat underlain by clayey soil (Nemah silty clay loam; fine, isotic, acid, isomesic Vertic Endoaquepts), possibly derived from an old, burned bog forest (burned tree trunks present). Bog is slightly drier and more hummocky in the southern 2/3 & wetter & flatter in the northern 1/3. |
