RemarksType: I. chartacifolia (Ames & C. Schweinfurth) M. A. Blanco (Maxillaria chartacifolia Ames & C. Schweinfurth). Etymology: "named after Inti, the "Sun God" of the Inca culture. The long and narrow leaves radiating from a congested shoot are reminiscent of the rays of a rising sun." (vide author). Gender: Having no botanical tradition, author gave this generic name a feminine gender (cf., Vienna Code Art. 62.3).
